Doctors

Dr. KnopfKenneth W. Knopf, D.M.D.

Dr. Kenneth W. Knopf graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1980. He has been practicing dentistry here in Gainesville since his graduation. Dr. Knopf attended Cornell University in New York for his undergraduate. He also has his masters and PhD in Entomology. Dr. Knopf is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Alachua County Dental Association and the Central District Association.

Dr. Knopf and his wife, Debby, together have four children, Craig, Jessica, Kyle and Marissa. Three of the four work in various capacities in the office.

In his spare time, Dr. Knopf enjoys running, fishing, hunting and woodworking.

Dr. MarkhamSamuel D. Markham, D.M.D.

Dr. Markham graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1998. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Miami, Florida. He then practiced in Miami until returning to the Gainesville area in 2001 where he practiced in High Springs for three years. Dr. Markham also received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Finance. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Alachua County Dental Association, and the Central Florida District Association. He is also a part time clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.

Dr. Markham is from Lake City, Florida. He is happily married to Merry-Jennifer who is chief resident in internal medicine at the VA hospital in Gainesville and will begin a fellowship in hematology/oncology in July, 2005. Dr. Markham and Merry-Jennifer have a one year old daughter, Madeline, and two cats, Fritz and Mitzi.

In his spare time, Dr. Markham enjoys spending time with his family, spinning at the gym, hunting, fishing and reading.

Dr. SkipperAlecia Skipper McDonald, D.M.D


Dr. McDonald is a recent graduate of the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. She also completed her undergraduate studies at UF with a major in microbiology. She is a huge GATOR fan and has fallen in love with the city of Gainesville so much so that she has decided to practice here in Gainesville.

Dr. McDonald is a member of the Alachua County Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the Central District Dental Association.

Dr. McDonald was born in Pensacola, Florida, the cradle of aviation. She comes from a military family and relocated to a new adventure every five years living in many areas of the country as well as overseas in the Philippines. Of course, traveling has become her passion and she is always planning for the next holiday.

In her spare time she enjoys sewing, playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, and spending time with her husband.


Dr. GoodrichMeredith K. Goodrich, D.M.D.

Dr. Goodrich graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2002. After graduating, she completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Colorado Springs. As a dentist in the United States Air Force, she had the unique opportunity of serving in England where she provided care for service members, retirees, families, and many children. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Florida Dental Association.

Dr. Goodrich and her husband, Chris, spend most of their time taking care of their baby Madeleine. Madeleine will come to the dentist as soon as she has teeth.

In her spare time, Dr. Goodrich enjoys reading, pottery, and cross-stitch.


Dr. Daniel RookeDr. Daniel Rooke

Dr. Daniel Rooke graduated for the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2006. Completing a General Practice Residency at the Malcolm Randall Veterans Administration in June 2007, his focus concentrates on preventative measures and has experience in all aspects of restorative dentistry, including esthetics and implant therapy.

Dr. Rooke is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Alachua County Dental Association

Originally from the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and fishing. He will soon be married to Dr. Piper Keller in October 2007, who is currently a resident at Shands UF in the Department of Radiology.

Dental Hygienists

 

KellyKelly, R.D.H.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Kelly is one of our six dental hygienists. She has a huge heart and will go out of her way to make your visit memorable. Kelly’s dental experience began in 1995 while she worked as one of our sterilization assistants during high school. It was during that time she became motivated to pursue a dental hygiene career. She graduated in 1999 with honors from Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She rejoined our team in December of 1999 as a full time hygienist.

Kelly loves spending time with her family. She and her husband, Kevin, were raised in Gainesville. They love spending time with the new pride and joy of the family, Ruger, their Labrador puppy. The remainder of her free time is spent painting, scrap booking, exercising and spending time with church family and friends.

NancyNancy, R.D.H.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Nancy is one of our six dental hygienists. She also spends a day a week doing all of the supply ordering. During the week, Nancy can be seen stocking the clinical area. Nancy takes pride in remembering patient’s names and faces. She spends quality time with her patients and goes the extra step to make your appointment special.

She attended St. Petersburg College where she received her Associate of Arts degree; she then attended Northern Virginia Community College where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. Nancy was a dental assistant for eleven years before becoming a hygienist. She has been a hygienist since 1990. She has been with our practice since 1992.

Nancy is married to Greg and they have a daughter, Brook. Snickers and Reesi are the cats they love to spoil. For relaxation Nancy takes pleasure in gardening, reading, canoeing, and antiquing.


TammyTammy, R.D.H.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Tammy is one of our six dental hygienists. She is very personable and makes all patients feel at home. Tammy grew up in High Springs, and is currently living in Alachua. While in her senior year of high school she began her dental hygiene education. She graduated in 1992 with her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from Santa Fe Community College. Tammy has been a part of our team since 1995.

Tammy is married to Scotty and they have a son, Zach, and a daughter, Savannah. Their third "child" is a rat terrier named Mika.

Tammy's hobbies include scrap booking, boating, and spending quality time with her family.


TraciTraci, R.D.H.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Traci is one of our six dental hygienists. She is also responsible for updating all of the information related to OSHA. She is able to communicate with patients on a personal level so that they can better understand their dental needs.

Traci began working with us as a dental assistant in 1998. She attended Brevard Community College and earned her Associate of Arts degree. She attended Santa Fe Community College, where she received her Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. During the dental hygiene program she was president of her class and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Traci is happily married to Jason and has a daughter named Kaitlyn and a son, Kyler. They have a cat named Earland a dog named Angel. When Traci isn't working she enjoys walking, biking, scrap booking, and most importantly being a mom.

"My goal as a hygienist is to form lasting relationships with patients so they enjoy coming to their appointments."



JennaJenna
Dental Hygienist

Jenna is one of our many dental hygienists. She graduated from SFCC and was a dental assistant before entering the dental hygiene program.

Jenna enjoys spending time with her husband, Carl, and three mini-dachshunds (Daisy, Lily and Diesel). Jenna and Carl love to go on road trips, bike rides and fishing. In their spare time they go to the gym for an intense workout.

Jenna loves working with children as well as adults trying to achieve exceptional dental health and in building a long lasting friendship with our patients.


AddieAddie
Dental Hygienist

Addie is one of our dental hygienists. She has been working in the dental field since she was 15 years old. Addie received her Associate of Arts degree from UF and her Associate of Science degree from Santa Fe Community College in Dental Hygiene. She is now back at UF taking classes to receive her Bachelor's degree in Health Education.

Addie is originally from Bradenton, Florida and has been living in Gainesville since 2002. She enjoys playing the violin, rollerblading and spending time with her friends, family and pets.


WhitneyWhitney, R.D.H.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Whitney is one of our many dental hygienists. She graduated in May 2007 from Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

Whitney is a life long resident of Lake City,Florida where she lives with her husband, Dustin. They enjoy spending time in their new home and working in the yard. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Jeanne is one of our dental hygienists. She graduated in May 2007 from Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

Jeanne has lived in Gainesville for 6 years, originally from France she enjoys traveling with her husband Alan and their two sons Jake and Noah. As a family they also like to go fishing, canoeing and spending time with friends.

Sterilization Assistant

Timothy Murphy was born in Gainesville, then grew up in Alachua.
He started working with MFD in 2007, and is planning to go to SFCC in January to further his education. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and dancing.

 

 


Vanessa
Sterilization Assistant

Vanessa has been living in Gainesville since 1988. She started working at MFD in 2007. She is currently in the Dental Assisting Program at SFCC. Vanessa lives with her boyfriend Chris, and cat Kyo. In her free time she likes to make jewelry, go to the beach, fish, and hang out with Chris.

Dental Assistant

Brenda is one of our six dental assistants. Although she has only been with our practice since 2001, you would never know it. She immediately took initiative and from the start was a very hard worker. She takes special time to sit and become acquainted with patients on a personal level.

Brenda is originally from Miami, Florida. She has been providing dentistry with her excellent service since 1984. She is expanded function certified and radiology certified.

Brenda is happily married to Tim and they share two teenage daughters, Heather and Lauren.

To relieve stress, Brenda spends time in her garden.


JanetJanet
Dental Assistant

Janet is one of our expanded duties dental assistants. She is a wonderful team member at our office. She doesn't only enjoy her job working with patients but she keeps our staff upbeat and laughing. She's a joy to work with.

Janet is a native Floridian. She received her Expanded Duties Certification from the University of Florida. She has been in the dental field since 1976.

Janet has raised two wonderful children: a son, a daughter and has one grandchild.

Janet enjoys being outdoors and especially likes spending her time relaxing at the beach.


TamiTami, C.D.A.
Certified Dental Assistant

Tami is one of our expanded functions dental assistants. One of Tami’s biggest responsibilities is being our head assistant. She does the scheduling for the other assistants, is our implant coordinator and goes beyond the call of duty wherever necessary. She has been employed since 1998. Tami is a sincere, polite, and friendly person who prides herself on making your appointment as soothing as possible.

Tami attended Jacksonville dental assisting school and has been working as an assistant since 1991. She also attended the University of Florida where she received her Expanded Duties Certification.

Tami is from Keystone Heights, Florida and is the youngest of five children in her family.

Water skiing and gardening consume most of Tami’s free time. She likes to spend time relaxing with her close friends and family.

Dental Assistant

Tina is one of our many dental assistants.She has been with our office since 2006. Tina is a National Board Certified Dental Assistant and a graduate of Santa Fe Community College. In addition to working in our office, she is also continuing her education to become a dental hygienist and will be graduating in 2008.

In her spare time Tina loves to spend time with her 1 year old dog Molly and her two cats, Peanut and Marvin. She also loves to cook and go for long runs.


Natalie S.Natalie Starnieri
Dental Assistant

Natalie has truly been a part of the Millhopper "Family". At the age of three, Natalie had her first Dental visit and has been coming to the office since, and continues as a Dental Assistant now with two years past Sterilization experience in the office. Natalie is in school currently working towards becoming a dental hygienist at Santa Fe Community College.

Natalie was raised here in Gainesville and loves to spend time with her family, watch the Gators play, and play with her little dog, Bradley.


LynetteLynette Anderson
Certified Dental Assistant

Lynette is a very outgoing person who loves to laugh and have fun. Lynette is originally from Clearwater, but attended dental assisting school in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Lynette has a lovely daughter named Aniya with whom she loves to spend her time. They are new to Gainesville, and she looks forward to meeting you.

Certified Dental Assistant


Jenny is one of our expanded duties dental assistants. She has been a dental assistant since 1994. Jenny received her expanded duties certification and radiology license from the University of Florida. Currently Jenny is completing her bachelor's degree at UF.
Jenny moved to Gainesville in 2003 and has since made Gainesville her home. She and her fiancé Justin enjoy spending time together with their family and friends, cooking, and spoiling their dog Skamper.


ChristyChristy
Certified Dental Assistant


Christy is one of our expanded functions dental assistants. Christy graduated from SFCC Dental Assisting program in August of 2007. She plans on continuing her education and applying for dental school in the near future. Christy strives for excellence in all her work. Christy loves to smile and laugh, make new friends, go to the gym, surf, be at the beach, spend time with her family and friends, but mostly she loves God

Marissa
Administrative Assistant

Marissa is one of our administrative assistants. She has been with our practice since 2003. Marissa previously worked in the clinical area of our office as a sterilization assistant. She is currently enrolled at the University of Florida and plans to graduate in 2009.

Marissa was born in Gainesville and is the daughter of Debby Knopf, Dr. Knopf's wife.

Marissa also enjoys spending time with family and friends, babysitting, cooking, working out, fishing and traveling.


Amanda
Administrative Assistant

Amanda is one of our administrative assistants. You may speak to her on the phone when calling in and she is usually the first person you will see when you walk in the door.

Amanda was born here in Gainesville and attended Santa Fe Community College. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Frank, daughter Anna, and their dog, Zeus.


Cheryl
Administrative Assistant

Cheryl recently joined us here at Millhopper Family Dentistry in October as an administrative assistant. You may speak to her on the phone when calling or meet her at the front desk in the office.

Cheryl was born in Hornell, New York and moved to Gainesville in August 2005. She has worked in the dental field for five years.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Greg and two children, Devon and Justin.

Administrative Assistant

Sharon is one of many smiling faces to greet you when visiting Millhopper Family Dentistry. Sharon became part of our Adminsitrative team in April 2007. She is happy to help you with any questions you may have regarding new patient appointments, insurance and scheduling dental procedures.

Sharon enjoys golfing, hiking, visiting the beach and spending time with her best friend and husband Keith, her daughter Krystal and son-in-law Jedidiah her youngest daughter Jayme and Jayme's Fiancé Justin and last but not least Brandy Alexandra our very active Terrior.



LoreylyLoreyly Abreu
Administrative Assistant

Loreyly works as an administrative assistant here at Millhopper Family Dentistry. She is usually one of the first people you speak with here at the front desk. Loreyly moved from Dominican Republic to the United States when she was 8 years old. She has lived in Gainesville ever since. She hopes to continue her education in the medical field as a Radioligist.

Loreyly enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Buck and traveling to exotic beaches around the world. She takes many vacations each year, including cruising, camping and visiting Colorado. On the weekends she spends time with family and friends and enjoys playing with her dog Isabella and cat Captain Jack.

Administrative Assistant


Erica has been living in Gainesville since 1985. She started working at MFD in 2007. Erica lives with her husband, Kyle, and her daughter, Kyleigh. She has 2 dogs as well, Hanna and Bailey. In her spare time she enjoys being a new mom, spending time with her husband and family, and fishing.
